FaiRevolution - digital storytelling

At FaiRevolution international training we will use digital storytelling to address socially and globally relevant topics:

• social and economic inequality,
• environmental sustainability and climate change,
• diversity and inclusion,
• migration

On the first day, we will introduce the digital storytelling method and the tools that can be used to implement it (podcast and video recording, comic drawing, interactive story). At the same time, we will also present the applications that are already available so that participants can use the method later on.

Each of the four topics will be covered for at least one day during the training.

In the morning, we will learn about the topic through the use of different methods:

• the digital treasure hunt method
• the journalist conference
• the election rally
• the quiz.

In the afternoon, participants will work in groups to develop a digital story (using the digital storytelling methods) based on the topic covered in the morning.

The training will also use ice-breaking methods that participants will be able to use later in their work. 

The training is based on the FaiRevolution toolkit, which was developed in 2023 in the framework of the Erasmus+ Small Partnerships project and is published on the Fairshare platform. The training will be delivered by experts in the field of global learning and experts in the use of digital tools.

One of the most important things is the motivation to participate and have an interest in the topic. It is an intense program so one needs to be willing to dedicate to it fully. The training will gather 20 participants from 5 EU countries (4 per country).

We are looking for people who:

• Already work with young people or groups or are interested in becoming youth workers, trainers or active volunteers,
• Are 18 years old or above,
• Have a good enough understanding of English to be able to follow and participate actively,
• Have the desire to gain new skills and learn about themselves,
• Are willing to fully participate throughout the whole training which consists of 5 working days (29.5. - 4.6.2024.)

Who is it for:

For youth who is interested in:

• Gaining greater self-awareness, empowerment, and understanding of others,
• Developing or improving different youth-working skills and becoming more confident in that role,
• Learning through interactive and diverse non-formal methods,
• Getting new tools and learning new methods that can be useful for personal and group work,
• Meeting interesting new people from 5 different countries, who share some similar interests,

• Costs: We will cover all essential costs of the program (including accommodation, food and travel costs up to a maximum amount per country).
• Food: The meals will be, to the best ability, adapted to the participants' needs and diets.
• Travel: All the selected participants will get an infosheet with detailed instructions on how to get to the venue and there will be assistance available from the project coordinator.
