INEX Slovakia annually organises trainings for future leaders of voluntary workcamps. These trainings are accredited by The Ministry of Education of Slovak Republic. Our trainers are enthusiastic young people that have attended various training both home and abroad. Each year we try to improve and come up with new challenging ideas. The trainings are usually divided into three events and leading a workcamp itself.

The cycle of the trainings:

Miki Víkendovka

First one is called “Miki Vikendovka” and is a rather informal meeting during the first weekend in December, where we get to know our potential leaders and people interested in the training. We already go through some basic activities of informal learning like exercises that signify the importance of teamwork, communication or point out how we create stereotypes.

1.training

Second training is a theoretical training if you could call it like that. It is again organised during a weekend, only this time it’s more intense. Using the methods of informal learning and participatory processes, we learn about leadership, motivation, volunteering itself, organisation of workcamps, theory of games and many others. This part involves sessions prepared by our trainers that also encompass activities, where the volunteers through a game or another technique learn various skills and competences.

2.training

The third part of the training is a practical one, also called “Demo Camp”. Again, during a weekend, however this time, some of the sessions are prepared by the participants themselves (which had the time to prepare it beforehand with a help from the training team), where they get some feedback (activities like name games, creating house rules and many other), sessions created by trainers are specially designed in a way where the participants try out situations like conflict resolution, motivation, organizing work, shopping and are supposed to come up with solutions and approaches on their own. In the end the volunteers undertake a practical test where they are being evaluated.

Become leader in Slovakia ...

Last part of the trainings is leading an international voluntary workcamp in Slovakia. By this time, the leaders should be adequately prepared for this task, but only after this undertaking, they receive a diploma confirming, they passed the trainings.
