ISL 01 BANSKA STIAVNICA

Work: The work will be done at the Calvary – mostly environmental and manual activities – picking the stones, cleaning the place, and cutting. The volunteers will help with the manual and gardening works in the area of Scout House.
Accommodation & Food: Lodging will be provided in the Scout House in the centre of Banska Stiavnica. Sleeping bag is needed. All the meals will be prepared by the volunteers themselves from supplies provided. Vegetarian catering is possible.
Location: The old mining and gold city Banska Stiavnica is located about 180 km east of Bratislava. It is surrounded by beautiful mountains and nature. Banska Stiavnica is very interesting city from a historical point of view. The whole city is like a giant hill.
Leisure time: Banska Stiavnica is old mining town with several museums, castles. One day trip is planned to Zilina where the participants will visit the Johnson Controls company and the city of Zilina.
Terminal: Airport, bus and train station, Bratislava, Banska Stiavnica bus station.
Remarks: You should bring sleeping bag, warm clothes, raincoat, working clothes and gloves, swimming suit and a smile on the lips.

ISL 02 BLACK CASTLE

Work: Reconstruction works in the area of a perished medieval castle – “Black Castle“. It will involve manual works on the remains of the castle, such as walling, preparing the mortar, cleaning the area, sawing fallen trees and branches. The volunteers will assist the archaeologists with the research (digging in the archaeological probe, sifting the rubble and look for artifacts, cleaning of the archaeological finds).
Accommodation & Food: Lodging will be provided in tents. Warm sleeping bag and mat are needed. The camp is located in a garden at the edge of the forest. Next the garden is a house with all basic hygiene facilities. Be ready to stay in a village with poor mobile phone network, but a phonebooth available. The kitchen within the house will be used by the volunteers to prepare the meals themselves. Vegetarian catering is possible.
Location: The place of camp is situated in the village of Zlatno, 17km east-north from town Zlaté Moravce, app. 130 km east from Bratislava. Zlatno was one of many villages in Slovakia known for goldwashing in the middle ages. This was also a reason, why a castle was built at such a remote place, far from the trading routes and cities.
Terminal: Airport in Bratislava; bus to Zlaté Moravce, and then to the village Zlatno. ISL 03 STONE TOWER

Work: Help with arhceological research and revitalizing the old ruins of the Kamenica Castle from first half of 13th Century: cleaning the place from vegetation, storing and sorting of stones and help with the georadar research. The volunteers will help also in the workcamp kitchen.
Accommodation & Food: The Kamenica Castle is situated on the west slopes of Cerhov Mountains. However it is 1 km far from the civilization so there is no electricity, no water-supply and no public transport. Lodging will be provided in tents on airbeds on a wooded floor - warm sleeping bag and mat are needed. Common soldier tent, field kitchen, dry toilet, solar showers and drinking water will be provided. Meal will be prepared by the volunteers themselves (breakfast and dinners), it is necessary to bring own plate, cup and cutlery. The lunch will be provided from the local caterer. Vegetarian catering is possible.
Location: The castle is located between Kamenica and Lucka-Potoky. They are villages near Presov (35 km far away) located in the Eastern part of Slovakia. From Kamenica (1,5 km) or Lucka-Potoky (1 km) you can get by feet to the ruins of the Kamenica Castle – the place of the workcamp.
Terminal: Airport – Bratislava, Kosice; then train or bus to Presov continuing to Lipany and than bus going to Lucka-Potoky or Kamenica. Please keep in mind that the journey from Bratislava to Presov takes for app. 6 hours. So please plan your journey to Bratislava with arrive in the morning.
Remarks: Bring sleeping bag and mat, working clothes and gloves, warm clothes, raincoat, strong boots, swimming suit and a smile on your lips ? Also music instruments and CD with your favorite songs from your country.

ISL 04 CABRAD CASTLE
CABRADSKY VRBOVOK, KRUPINA

Work: Work will focus on targeted interventions, improving the status of Cabrad castle ruins. Static defects in the masonry (holes, vaults holes ...) and work around it - the preparation of stone, sand, mortar, material transport to the castle. It will be masonry with the original technology, called hot mortar of quicklime, which is prepared just before use and has a temperature around the 50°C. Volunteers will help with cleaning the Castle from the vegetation.
Accommodation & Food: The Cabrad Castle is situated on the west slopes of Krupina Mountains. However it is 4 km far from the civilization so there is no electricity, no water-supply and no public transport. Accommodation is in the attic of the castle. There is a dry, wooden floor, mattresses are available. Heating is not there and the nights are cool. The building has 2 floors, you need to climb into it by a wooden ladder. In the castle is no electricity - only candles and own battery lamps. If you have your own tent, you can to build it in the courtyard of the castle. For cooking we use the field kitchen on solid fuel furnace, or open fire, or a small camping gas cooker.
Location: The castle is located near villages Čabradský Vrbotok and Konské. They are villages near Krupina (16 km far away) located in the Central part of Slovakia. From village Konske (4 km) you can get by feet to the ruins of the Cabrad Castle – the place of the workcamp. The meeting point will be in the village Cabradsky Vrbotok.
Terminal: Airport – Bratislava; then train or bus to Zvolen continuing to Krupina and than bus going to Cabradsky Vrbotok. Please keep in mind that the journey could take app. 6 hours. So please plan your journey to Bratislava with arrive in the morning.
Remarks: Bring sleeping bag and mat, working clothes and gloves, warm clothes, raincoat, strong boots, torch, bowl, spoon and a smile on your lips :) Also music instruments and something from your country.

Work: Reconstruction works in the area of an ancient castle – “Brekov“. It will involve manual masonry works. Cleaning environmental works will be also part of the work.
Accommodation & Food: Lodging will be provided in the lodging house; in case of good weather lodging will be provided in tents on the grounds of the castle. Food will be provided by local volunteers.
Location: Brekov is a village near Humenne in the Presov Region of north-east Slovakia. The ruins of the Brekov castle (castle from the 13th century), are located on the hill above the village and are in good shape. Brekov Castle was built around 650 AD by the Slavonic nations. The first stone buildings were built much later. During the next centuries started to be important guard castle for Hungarian Empire and whole region.
Terminal: Airport, bus, train in Bratislava, Kosice; then train or bus to Humenne. Volunteers will be picked up in Humenne and transported by local partner directly to Brekov. Please keep in mind that the journey from Bratislava to Presov takes for app. 8 hours. So please plan your journey to Bratislava with arrive in the morning or try to find connection direclty to Kosice (2 hours from Humenne).
Remarks: Suitable sleeping bags and mats, working clothes, warn clothes, raincoat, strong boots and good spirit :) are needed.

The workcamp will be organized on two different ruins of the castles – Saris and Obisovce in the east part of Slovakia. The volunteers will stay first half of the project in Obisovce and they will move to Saris in the middle of the workcamp.
Work: Revitalizing the old ruins of the Saris and Obisvoce Castle in Slovak Carpathians: renovation works, cleaning the area, help with masonary work according the traditional technics, environmental acitvities.
Accommodation & Food in Obisovce:
The volunteers will stay first half of the project in the village Obisovce (1,5 km from Kysak, 22 km from Presov) in the east part of Slovakia. The volunteers will sleep in local Cultural House on the floor with toilette facilities and kitchen. Sleeping mat and bag are neccessary. The breakfast and dinners will be prepared by the volunteers themselves and lunch will be provided by the local partner. Vegetarian catering is possible.
Accommodation & Food in Saris:
The Saris Castle is situated on the top of 300 m high volcanic hill upon the river Torysa, it is part of protected nature reserve. However it is 3 km far from the civilization so there is no electricity, no water-supply and no public transport. Lodging will be provided in one castle tower, sleeping on wooden floor - warm sleeping bag and mat are needed. Common soldier tent, field kitchen, dry toilet, solar showers and drinking water will be provided. The meals will be prepared by the volunteers themselves, it is necessary to bring own plate, cup and cutlery. Vegetarian catering is NOT possible.
Location: The meeting point will be in the vilage Obisovce near town Kysak located in the Eastern part of Slovakia. From Kysak you can get by feet to the village Obisovce – the place of the workcamp, or you can be pick by car from Kysak by local partner after agreement.
Terminal: Airport – Bratislava, Kosice; then train or bus to Presov or straight to Kysak. Please keep in mind that the journey from Bratislava to Kysak takes for app. 6 hours. So please plan your journey to Bratislava with arrive in the morning or try to find connection direclty to Kosice (20 minutes from Kysak by train).
Remarks: Bring sleeping bag and mat, working clothes and gloves, warm clothes, raincoat, strong boots, swimming suit and a smile on your lips :) Also, if possible, music instruments and USB with your favourite songs and photos from your country.

Work: The work will be done in the are of the building „Frimlovec“ in the village. The building was used before for collecting recycled thrass but the village would like to renovate it for cultural purposes. The volunteers will help with renovation of the building, the garden and natural park around lake; with cleaning the wheel and future exhibit area of the building. The volunteers will help with finishing nature trail to old monastery close to the village. In case of good weather the volunteers will help also with preparation of the vineyard field in Zamarovce.
Accommodation & Food: The volunteers will stay direclty in the village in a building called „Frimlovec“ and sleep on the matrases. The sleeping outside on the garden is also possible. The toilette facilities and kitchen are available. The meals will be prepared by the volunteers themselves. The vegetarian catering is possible.
Location: The village Zamarovce is situated near town Trencin (1,5hour from Bratislava). The region offers opportunities for hiking, sighseeing (several castles and historical buildings). Zamarovce are birthplace of popular Slovak writer – Zamarovsky :) The meeting point will be directly in the village Zamarovce.
Terminal: Airport – Bratislava; then train or bus to Trencin; and then to village Zamarovce.

Work: The work will be done on the Eco center (former school) – cleaning, painting, renovation of windows, floor. The volunteers will take care for nature trail (painting of touristic sings, cleaning) and for natural locality Lanice in Zvolen (environmental activities) . In case of finances the volunteers will help with renovation of the bridge in the village Slatinka.
Accommodation & Food: The volunteers will stay in “Ecocenter” (before used as a school) with 2 rooms for sleeping on the matrasses. Solar shower, dry toilets, kitchen and cold chamber will be available. There is also possibility to sleep outside in tents for nature lovers. Meals will be prepared by the volunteers themselves. The food will be mostly vegetarian.
Location: Slatinka is a little village near Zvolen located in the Central part of Slovakia. The village is surrounded with beautiful nature with a lot of touristic routes or possibilities for hiking.

Work: The volunteers will organize free time activities (e.g. workshops, trips, games etc.) for mentally and physically disabled clients. The activities for clients will be creative, musical, rhythmic, sport or other workshops. The ideas for the activities are the volunteers who want to help clients in social integration are very welcomed. The camp is very important and awaiting event in the life of clients and whole center Integra.
Accommodation & Food: Lodging will be provided directly in the building of the facility for disabled clients. Sleeping bag is needed. Volunteers will be in charge of preparing dinner themselves, breakfast and lunch will be eaten together with the clients in the cafeteria. Vegetarian catering is possible.
Location: The capital of Slovakia – Bratislava is situated in south-western part of Slovakia next to the border with Austria and Hungary. It has a fascinating history and culture, magnificent Old Town, picturesque castle on a hill just above the city, and – last but not least – the night life has a lot to offer too ;)

Work: The volunteers will examine, verificate and clean the locality of the old mining village. The mining operations had been realized here since the middle age. The periphal walls remained from the old mining houses. The volunteers will clean the locality (cutting grass, moving the stones, cleaning). The mining village is part of the nature trail from the village and it is situated in the forest.
Accommodation & Food: The volunteers will stay in small village Cucma in the east part of Slovakia. The accommodation will be ensured in a local school and they will sleep in beds. The toilette facilities and kitchen are available. Breakfasts and dinners will be prepared by the volunteers themselves. The lunch will be ensured by the local partner. The vegetarian catering is possible.
Location: Cucma is small village in the Eastern Slovakia. The region around Roznava is rich with historical monuments (Manor Betliar, castle Krasna Horka), caves (in the UNESCO list) and beautiful nature of Slovak Karst. The village itself has rich mining history.
Terminal: Airport – Bratislava; then train or bus to Roznava; and then to village Cucma. Please keep in mind that the journey from Bratislava to Roznva takes for app. 6 hours.
